{"id":1106,"date":"2022-11-30T20:08:44","date_gmt":"2022-11-30T20:08:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nucleomilenioeris.cl\/?p=1106"},"modified":"2022-11-30T22:22:36","modified_gmt":"2022-11-30T22:22:36","slug":"workshop-gaia-benchmark-stars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nucleomilenioeris.cl\/es\/news\/workshop-gaia-benchmark-stars\/","title":{"rendered":"Taller de estrellas de referencia de Gaia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El N\u00facleo Milenio ERIS, junto con el Observatorio Europeo Austral (ESO), organiz\u00f3 un taller titulado: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eso.org\/sci\/meetings\/2022\/GBS.html\">\u201cExtending the Gaia Benchmark stars\u201d<\/a> durante el mes de noviembre. Del 14 al 18, gracias a la colaboraci\u00f3n entre Ditte Slumstrup y Paula Jofr\u00e9, se pudo reunir a un equipo de expertos para trabajar en este proyecto en particular. El equipo incluy\u00f3 a varios miembros de ERIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Ditte Slumstrup, es una joven cient\u00edfica de la ESO, que tom\u00f3 la iniciativa de llevar a cabo observaciones espectrosc\u00f3picas infrarrojas de las estrellas de referencia, utilizando el instrumento CRIRES+ en VLT. En el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o y medio, se ha logrado obtener m\u00e1s de 30 nuevos espectros, los cuales est\u00e1n siendo analizados actualmente. Gracias al taller, el equipo que comenz\u00f3 el estudio de estas estrellas en 2011 en Burdeos, Francia, pudo colaborar con los miembros del equipo ERIS que estudian los espectros estelares, tales como \u00c1lvaro Rojas, Sara Vitali, Claudia Aguilera, Danielle de Brito y Scarlet Elgueta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 son las estrellas de referencia Gaia?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Estas son estrellas muy brillantes y bien conocidas que han sido estudiadas desde los primeros cat\u00e1logos espectrales a principios del siglo XX, siendo analizadas por el famoso grupo de mujeres conocido como las \"Computadoras de Harvard\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Junto con los avances en tecnolog\u00eda, nuestra comprensi\u00f3n de la astrof\u00edsica estelar tambi\u00e9n ha aumentado y ahora se pueden resolver con gran detalle una gran cantidad de l\u00edneas espectrales. Adem\u00e1s, gracias a los telescopios modernos, ahora es posible conocer el tama\u00f1o de las estrellas mediante la medici\u00f3n de sus di\u00e1metros angulares, realizar observaciones de dominio temporal de sus brillos, estudiar c\u00f3mo oscilan, etc. Sin embargo, todav\u00eda no se puede hacer esto para todas las estrellas de la Galaxia. Para limitar las propiedades f\u00edsicas de los millones de estrellas que podemos observar hoy en d\u00eda gracias a Gaia y sus encuestas espectrosc\u00f3picas complementarias, necesitamos saber cu\u00e1nto entendemos las atm\u00f3sferas estelares, es decir, c\u00f3mo <em>Gaia Benchmark stars <\/em>pueden ayudarnos.<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paula Jofr\u00e9 es una de las l\u00edderes en la caracterizaci\u00f3n de estas estrellas. Comenz\u00f3 este proyecto durante su primera posici\u00f3n de posdoctorado en Burdeos, Francia, cuando comenz\u00f3 a colaborar con Caroline Soubiran y Ulrike Heiter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ese proyecto motiv\u00f3 a\u00fan m\u00e1s el desarrollo del paquete computacional llamado iSpec por parte del entonces estudiante de doctorado Sergi Blanco Cuaresma, de Burdeos. Con este programa, el equipo es capaz de realizar an\u00e1lisis espectrosc\u00f3picos detallados y cuidadosos utilizando datos de alta precisi\u00f3n de <em>Gaia Benchmark stars<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre los a\u00f1os 2014 y 2016, el equipo public\u00f3 su primera serie de art\u00edculos, convirtiendo a estas estrellas en una referencia para la validaci\u00f3n y calibraci\u00f3n de la primera generaci\u00f3n de encuestas espectrosc\u00f3picas de alta resoluci\u00f3n, como Gaia-ESO, GALAH, APOGEE y RAVE. Estas estrellas se convirtieron en material fundamental para el \u00e9xito de los proyectos mencionados.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Los beneficios de ERIS con las estrellas de referencia de Gaia.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>ERIS se beneficia enormemente de este proyecto, ya que se basa en abundancias qu\u00edmicas precisas que pueden interpretarse como el ADN estelar. ERIS tiene como objetivo utilizar miles de estrellas de la V\u00eda L\u00e1ctea para construir un \u00e1rbol filogen\u00e9tico y reconstruir la historia de las galaxias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con el paso de los a\u00f1os, Gaia ha publicado nuevas paralajes y se han obtenido m\u00e1s di\u00e1metros angulares estelares. Por lo tanto, es crucial seguir mejorando esta muestra estelar tan importante. Esto es especialmente importante dada la nueva generaci\u00f3n de encuestas espectrosc\u00f3picas planeadas o en curso, como SDSS, MOONS, WEAVE, 4MOST, entre otras, que requieren calibraci\u00f3n y validaci\u00f3n de sus an\u00e1lisis espectrosc\u00f3picos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los resultados recientes muestran que las abundancias qu\u00edmicas obtenidas a partir de l\u00edneas espectrales en diferentes longitudes de onda pero del mismo astro no concuerdan. El objetivo del taller fue comprender si esto se debe a una limitaci\u00f3n en nuestra comprensi\u00f3n de las atm\u00f3sferas estelares, las transiciones at\u00f3micas o simplemente a los m\u00e9todos de an\u00e1lisis de espectros.
