To understand the impact on phylogenetic trees regarding the role of the various chemical
elements, semi-analytical models of chemical evolution are analyzed. These models include
Flex-CE or L-Galaxies, which take into account the non-linear evolution of a structure in a
cosmological framework and introduce the physics of baryons by using a set of recipes
whose free parameters are chosen to reproduce observed relations. These kind of
simulations are complementary to the cosmological one but require less computational
power thus allowing us to test a larger variety of input data regarding the chemical
abundances and star formation histories which help to characterize tree topologies.
